The Exhibit of the Art of Jimmy Mirikitani closed on December 31st. I learned so much during the almost 9 months that Jimmy’s Art lived in my home that I could not bear to see the precious pieces be packed up for the trip back to the Wing Luke Museum of Asian American Experience in Seattle, Washington.
I left Jimmy’s Art in the capable hands of Tabitha Nickolai, my granddog Daphne in the loving care of Tommie Blockson (The Dog Guy) and the Emerson Street House to the care of Kristen Dozono, Jeremy Jenson and Joanne Suell Green.
Radio Cab Driver Ami collected me and my luggage and dropped us off at Portland International Airport for my Delta flight to West Palm Beach Florida. I was grateful to encounter pleasant caring employees every step of the way. None of the drama I had been reading about in the press.
Ziggy Uber Taxi met me at Palm Beach International Airport and drove to the home office of Sharon Koskoff and Art Deco of the Palm Beaches. Sharon rallied and took me to my new Condo where I will be “in residence” until April 19th, officially a “snow-bird” for the first time in my life.
